No more posting

I realize that I have not posted in a long time. There is a reason.

This website was largely a place to gather information and prepare for the radio show. Since that has gone off the air, and the ten thousand dollar down payment to get it re-started does not appear to be forth-coming, the importance of this site has been diminished.

Frankly, it was a significant investment of time that did not seem to have much return, outside of the show prep I had to do, anyway. It only exists at this point as an archive, an historical oddity.

Elie Wiesel: For Jerusalem

The following was published in The International Herald Tribune, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal on April 16, 2010 and in The New York Times on April 18, 2010. It is signed by Elie Wiesel.
It was inevitable: Jerusalem once again is at the center of political debates and international storms. New and old tensions surface at a disturbing pace. Seventeen times destroyed and seventeen times rebuilt, it is still in the middle of diplomatic confrontations that could lead to armed conflict. Neither Athens nor Rome has aroused that many passions.

For me, the Jew that I am, Jerusalem is above politics. It is mentioned more than six hundred times in Scripture—and not a single time in the Koran. Its presence in Jewish history is overwhelming. There is no more moving prayer in Jewish history than the one expressing our yearning to return to Jerusalem. To many theologians, it IS Jewish history, to many poets, a source of inspiration. It belongs to the Jewish people and is much more than a city, it is what binds one Jew to another in a way that remains hard to explain. When a Jew visits Jerusalem for the first time, it is not the first time; it is a homecoming. The first song I heard was my mother’s lullaby about and for Jerusalem. Its sadness and its joy are part of our collective memory.

Since King David took Jerusalem as his capital, Jews have dwelled inside its walls with only two interruptions; when Roman invaders forbade them access to the city and again, when under Jordanian occupation, Jews, regardless of nationality, were refused entry into the old Jewish quarter to meditate and pray at the Wall, the last vestige of Solomon’s temple. It is important to remember: had Jordan not joined Egypt and Syria in the war against Israel, the old city of Jerusalem would still be Arab. Clearly, while Jews were ready to die for Jerusalem they would not kill for Jerusalem.

Today, for the first time in history, Jews, Christians and Muslims all may freely worship at their shrines. And, contrary to certain media reports, Jews, Christians and Muslims ARE allowed to build their homes anywhere in the city. The anguish over Jerusalem is not about real estate but about memory.

What is the solution? Pressure will not produce a solution. Is there a solution? There must be, there will be. Why tackle the most complex and sensitive problem prematurely? Why not first take steps which will allow the Israeli and Palestinian communities to find ways to live together in an atmosphere of security. Why not leave the most difficult, the most sensitive issue, for such a time?

Jerusalem must remain the world’s Jewish spiritual capital, not a symbol of anguish and bitterness, but a symbol of trust and hope. As the Hasidic master Rebbe Nahman of Bratslav said, “Everything in this world has a heart; the heart itself has its own heart.”

Jerusalem is the heart of our heart, the soul of our soul.

FaithFreedom Interview with Vijay Kumar

Vijay Kumar is running for Congress in Tennessee. Here is his website, Kumar For Congress. Vijay, was born in India and is now a citizen of the United States. He is a superb political analyst. Here is an interview with him from Ali Sina's FaithFreedom website. Please read it all and ponder his words.
Great men are born in the midst of despair, when ignorance has filled the world and evil reigns. This is indeed one such time for mankind. Islam is on the rise, Islamic terrorism is destroying countless lives throughout the world and it is threatening our freedom, our countries and our civilization. Meanwhile ignorance has blinded mankind to its peril. Humanity is walking blindfolded to its doom.

Vijay Kumar is one of the few people who understand the nature of this peril. Vijay is not a politician. He does not speak the language of politicians. He speaks the truth. Truth and politics often don't mix. In Netherlands, the Dutch court is prosecuting a member of their parliament for speaking the truth. His prosecutor has said before the trial, "It is irrelevant whether Wilders's witnesses might prove Wilders's observations to be correct, what's relevant is that his observations are illegal".

In the USA, speaking the truth is not illegal yet, but it is politically incorrect. You will not be prosecuted yet, but you'll face vilification, will be called racist, fascist and maligned. The US is not far behind the Europe. Things are changing rapidly and all the freedoms that the Americans had enjoyed can be lost overnight. Politicians are fast asleep.

Despite that Kumar is running for the Congress. It is now up to the voters of Tennessee to decide whether they want to send another politician to the Congress or a man who dares to speak the truth. is honored for this exclusive interview with Vijay Kumar, one of the few people who understands the real threat that the USA and the world is facing and has the courage to tell it like it is.

The future of America and the world depends on men and women who have the wisdom to discern the truth and the courage to defend it. This is one interview you want to read. Vijay is a man you want to know. His words of wisdom must be spread. If America is to survive as a democracy, it would be because of people like Vijay Kumar.

Ali Sina

FAITHFREEDOM: Thank you for accepting to do this interview for Faithfreedom International. It is an honor to have you with us.

You are running for the United States Congress from the 5th Congressional District of the state of Tennessee. Obviously, as a conservative you are concerned about the deficit, the takeover of industry by the government, health care and other issues that concern every patriotic American. However, you have said that stopping the Islamization of America is your priority. I know only of one politician with a similar platform: Geert Wilders, the founder of Freedom Party in Holland. Why do you think Islamization of America should be the primary concern for Americans? What dangers are you sensing that Islam poses to America?

VIJAY KUMAR: Thank for the opportunity to be with Faith Freedom. It is indeed an honor for me. Yes, I am very interested in and concerned about the economy, the takeover of industry by the government, state-regulated healthcare, and the right to life. My website at contains my position on those and other important issues facing the American people.

The reason I believe that the Islamization of America should be the primary concern of Americans is that Islamic imperialism poses an existential threat to the United States, and, really, to all mankind.

America was conceived as a free constitutional republic that is of the people, by the people, and for the people. Islam was conceived as a totalitarian theocracy that is of Islam, by Islam, and for Islam. The Quran is the antithesis of the United States Constitution. They are polar opposites. They are diametrically opposed. I don't say that as some Hegelian abstraction: I mean that these two documents are ideological opposites of each other in their most basic purposes and goals.

The purpose of our Constitution is to secure and guarantee to all people the greatest possible freedom. The purpose of Islam is for all people to submit to Islam, and only Islam-not just spiritually, but politically and secularly, in every aspect of law and life.

These two purposes could not possibly be in greater opposition.

Our constitutional republic is built upon the foundation of separation of church and state, with a representative form of government that derives all of its power from the will of the people, framed by a Constitution that is the supreme law of the land.

Islam is built on a foundation of church and state being one, an inseparable autocratic form of government that derives all of its power solely from the will of Allah, framed exclusively by Islamic law-which Islam holds to be divine, supreme, and immutable.

So the danger that Islam poses to America is that Islam, at its core, is ideologically at war with our Constitution. It is a declared war against everything our Constitution stands for. This is a war of polarized ideologies, and they are irreconcilable.

Every conflict we have with Muslims and Islamic nations everywhere around the world arises from that one very simple fact. All other "explanations" are wrong, and so lead to no solutions, only endless turmoil.

The idea that somehow the United States antagonized the current conflicts with Islamic nations and Muslim terrorists is specious. The very existence of our Constitution is what antagonizes Islam. It stands in stark opposition to Islam's worldwide goal of domination over all mankind. We could be doing absolutely nothing anywhere in the world, and still would be an object of Islam's contempt and aggression for the sole reason that we do not submit ourselves to Islamic law, and we further have the gall to proclaim in our Constitution that people have the right to choose a religion other than Islam-or no religion at all.

One cannot serve two masters. One cannot to be loyal to the United States Constitution and to the Quran at the same time.

Muslims and non-Muslims alike, need to face up to this incontrovertible fact: Islam's ultimate goal is world domination by Islamic rule, and America stands as the single greatest barrier to the realization of that ultimate goal. That is the exact simple statement of the problem.

For that reason, Islam, at its core, requires the overthrow of the American government, the destruction of our Constitution, and the cancellation of all of our laws as its ultimate goal in America, so that all of those can be replaced with the Quran and Sharia law.

Islam, at its core, also demands the suppression and ultimate eradication of every other church and religion in the world: Protestant, Catholic, Coptic, Judaic, Buddhist, Mormon, Hindu, Zoroastrian-none are exempt. All paths to spiritual enlightenment and sacred belief known to man that are not Islam-and even materialism, agnosticism, and atheism-are branded by the Quran as inferior, and not really worthy of existence.

Islam, at its core, also mandates inequality under Islamic law, using a double standard specifically designed to oppress to any "non- believer." It enforces Sharia law and its inherent discrimination with draconian penalties, including selective taxes, dismemberment, and execution.

Islam, at its core, also commands complete and inescapable submission of the mind and spirit to its scripture as supreme and divine law that overrides and supersedes all the human rights and freedoms that we, as Americans, hold sacred-including, ironically, freedom of religion. The Quran and Sharia law suppress all dissent, and call for the destruction of all opposition to Islamic supremacy. To leave Islam, or even to criticize it, is punishable by death. Comedy Central thought that was a joke.

They're now finding out that perhaps it's not so funny after all.

These goals and purposes of Islam I've stated are not "Radical Islam;" they are Literal Islam. These are the fundamental canonical goals of Islam's most holy scripture, spelled out quite clearly in the Quran and Hadith, and being put into force right this minute in nations around the world.

The Islamic theologian Syed Abul A'ala Maududi left no doubt about Islam's ultimate goals when he said: "Islam wishes to destroy all states and governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and program of Islam regardless of the country or the nation which rules it. The purpose of Islam is to set up a state on the basis of its own ideology and program."

Given that the ideology of Islam itself is opposed to human rights and freedom, that automatically, by reversal, makes every liberal democracy on Earth "opposed to the ideology and program of Islam"-as Maududi put it, typically accusing those in favor of freedom as being the offenders.

I realize that reciting these goals of Islam is not popular or "politically correct" in our culture today, exactly because of the flood of propaganda insisting that Islam is merely "another religion" and "a religion of peace."

But Islam, at its core, is a faith-based political theocracy whose most basic tenets and goals are a nullification of our Constitution, and, as such, it is the single greatest threat that America-and, indeed, the entire free world-has ever faced. It is a consummate totalitarianism against which every other totalitarianism should be measured. Expressly because of its religious component, Islamic imperialism is far more dangerous than Nazism and Communism combined.

Hitler came to power in 1939, and World War II ended in 1945 with the defeat of Nazi Germany. Hitler was in power for about 15 years. The Communist Soviet Union lasted longer, for about 74 years. The Soviet Union and Soviet sponsored Communism died of their own internal contradictions.

Yet today, Islam's Universal Jihad has gained control of over 50 countries in the world, according to the CIA's own World Fact Book. That's more than Nazism and Soviet Communism combined. And Islam is well on its way to demographic control in over a dozen other countries...

'They Need to Be Liberated'

Mosab Hassan Yousef is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founder and leader of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. From the Stupidfada to the the start of the current stalemate, he worked alongside his father in the West Bank.

Son of HamasYet, as his book — Son of Hamas, released this week — reveals, Yousef also secretly embraced Christianity and became one of the top spies for Israel's internal security service, the Shin Bet.

Wall Street Journal has a profile of the "Green Prince" whose double conversion has rocked the Middle East.

"There is a logical explanation," he says of his story, which shames his family and shocks old friends. "Simply my enemies of yesterday became my friends. And the friends of yesterday became really my enemies."

It started in an Israeli prison where he claims to have been beaten and tortured badly in custody. "I wanted revenge on Israel," he writes. But when he was sent to serve his term at the Megiddo prison in northern Israel, he says he was more shocked by the way the maj'd, Hamas's security wing, dealt with other prisoners.

"Every day, there was screaming; every night, torture. Hamas was torturing its own people!" he writes. The Muslims he met in jail "bore no resemblance to my father" and "were mean and petty ... bigots and hypocrites."

By agreeing to work with the Shin Bet, he got out of prison early. The General Security Service did not ask much of him, though he stayed on payroll. Then he met a British cabbie who gave him an English-Arabic copy of the New Testament and invited him to attend a bible study session at their hotel.

"I found that I was really drawn to the grace, love and humility that Jesus talked about," he writes.

With the outbreak of the Stupidfada in September 2000, Yousef was fully activated as a spy.

A few months before at Camp David, the late PLO chief Yasser Arafat had turned down the Israeli offer of statehood on 90% of the West Bank with East Jerusalem as the capital. According to Mr. Yousef, Arafat decided he needed another uprising to win back international attention. So he sought out Hamas's support through Sheikh Yousef, writes his son, who accompanied him to Arafat's compound. Those meetings took place before the Palestinian authorities found a pretext for the second Intifada. It came when future Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. Mr. Yousef's account helps to set straight the historical record that the uprising was premeditated by Arafat.

Mr. Yousef tells me that he was horrified by the pointless violence unleashed by politicians willing to climb "on the shoulders of poor, religious people." He says Palestinians who heeded the call "were going like a cow to the slaughterhouse, and they thought they were going to heaven." So, as he writes in the book, "At the age of twenty-two, I became the Shin Bet's only Hamas insider who could infiltrate Hamas's military and political wings, as well as other Palestinian factions."
Yousef claims some significant intelligence coups for himself, and he says he isn't telling the world everything. While it is easy to dismiss his claims as part of a publicity stunt with a book intended to launch a new life in America, sis handler — now retired from the Shin Bet — corroborated many of the stories to Haaretz.
So many people owe him their lives and don't even know it. People who did a lot less were awarded the Israel Security Prize. He certainly deserves it. I knew him for six years, as a coordinator and as a district director. And I tell you, that if we had X number of intelligence coordinators in the region, thanks to him we had X+1. He was the extra coordinator. You know what? He was better than most of us - no offense to anyone.
The paper said the Shin Bet considered Yousef "the most reliable and most senior agent."

Why did Yousef betray his people? It was not just the hypocrisy of those in the movement his father founded, or the arrogance of Palestinian leaders like Arafat who would waste Palestinian lives for PR. The motivation, he says, was to save lives.
I'd seen enough killing. I was a witness to lots of death... Saving a human life was something really, really beautiful... no matter who they are. Not only Israeli people owe me their lives. I guarantee many terrorists, many Palestinian leaders, owe me their lives—or in other words they owe my Lord their lives.
Yousef says he used his influence at Shin Bet to get the Israelis to try to arrest Hamas and other Palestinian figures rather than blow them up with missile strikes. He says he saved his father from the fate of Sheikh Yassin and other Hamas leaders whom the Israelis killed by secretly arranging to have him arrested. "I know for sure that my father is alive today, he still breathes, because I was involved in this thing."

Yousef is a living example of what we call Zionism for Palestinians' sake. Yet the personal cost was high.

"Unfortunately, my father, the sheikh [Hassan Yousef], was forced to say that he is renouncing me as his son," Yousef told Haaretz.
My father's announcement that he is disowning me came because Hamas forced him to do it. But this will cause me to fight even more stubbornly against their god and against his movement. I love my father, but his movement is arrogant and evil.

They want me to lose my father forever, and my response will be to fight his god until he is finished. I am fighting the god of hate, the god of Islam, by means of my God - that of Christianity, which is the God of love.
As the son of a Muslim cleric, he echoes other defectors from Islam when he says that terrorism can't be defeated without a new understanding of Islam.

Like his father, Muslims are trapped, he told the Journal.
He's not a fanatic. He's a very moderate, logical person. What matters is not whether my father is a fanatic or not, he's doing the will of a fanatic god. It doesn't matter if he's a terrorist or a traditional Muslim. At the end of the day a traditional Muslim is doing the will of a fanatic, fundamentalist, terrorist god. I know this is harsh to say. Most governments avoid this subject. They don't want to admit this is an ideological war.
"The problem is not in Muslims. The problem is with their god. They need to be liberated from their god. He is their biggest enemy. It has been 1,400 years they have been lied to." Mosab Hassan Yousef While he does not seek to convert all the Middle East, the Palestinians, or Israel to Christianity, he recognizes the fundamental danger of Islam and its god of hate.

"The problem is not in Muslims," says Yousef. "The problem is with their god. They need to be liberated from their god. He is their biggest enemy. It has been 1,400 years they have been lied to."

For the past two years, since he decided to leave Shin Bet's services, Mosab Yousef has lived near San Diego, and the US is currently weighing his application for political asylum. With the publication of his book, there is no doubt that his life is in danger.

The book is available at bookstores in the Kansas City area, including Barnes & Noble, or at Amazon.

You can download the first chapter in English for free or listen to the audio in English from his publisher's website.

A Near-Perfect Record of Being Wrong

Khamenei GnomeThe New York Times has a fascinating analysis of how hard it is to figure out what Iran is doing.

Since being caught last September building a secret, underground nuclear enrichment plant at a military base near the city of Qum, the country's leaders have insisted they had no other choice because their nuclear facilities under constant threat of attack. This actually seems logical.

Then, about two weeks ago, Iran moved nearly its entire stockpile of low-enriched nuclear fuel to an above-ground plant. This does not seem logical. "It was as if, one official noted, a bull's-eye had been painted on it."

Why take such a huge risk?

That mystery is the subject of fervent debate among many who are trying to decode Iran’s intentions. The theories run from the bizarre to the mundane: Under one, Iran is actually taunting the Israelis to strike first. Under another, it is simply escalating the confrontation with the West to win further concessions in negotiations. The simplest explanation, and the one that the Obama administration subscribes to, is that Iran has run short of suitable storage containers for radioactive fuel, so it had to move everything.
"The debate reflects the depth of confusion about the intentions of a badly divided Iranian leadership."

The debate and the confusion are all part of Iran's cheat-and-retreat strategy. There is a reason Iran claims it has answered all the questions posed by inspectors about potential work on weapons, while the inspectors say there have been no responses since mid-2008. There is a reason that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has swung from praising a proposed deal to ship much of its nuclear stockpile out of the country so that it could be converted to fuel for a medical reactor to rejecting it.

The reason may be that the gnomes running Iran are crazy.

But it may be that the audience watching Iran is.

My favorite part of the whole piece is a quote attributed to an unnamed senior adviser who reportedly told President Barack Obama late last year: "We've got a near-perfect record of being wrong about these guys for 30 years."

Undeniably, the guessing game reveals more about those making the guesses than it does about Iran.

As American intelligence official noted, "You can't dismiss the possibility that this is a screw-up."

Blame Game

Hamas now claims Egypt and Jordan are behind the assassination in Dubai of their slain commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.

Mahmoud Nasser, a member of Hamas' political bureau, told the Al-Quds Al-Araby daily newspaper that Mabhouh was likely being tracked by agents from Jordan and Egypt prior to the January 19 killing.

Nasser claimed he had been given information regarding efforts by the security forces of an Arab state to kill Mabhouh, adding that the evidence indicated that the assassination was carried out earlier than the alleged agents had planned.

As Commentary's Emanuele Ottolenghi notes, "Clearly, given Hamas’s propensity to tell the truth, this information must be taken with a grain of salt."

In fact, according to Nasser, Mabhouh was in possession of "dangerous" information seen as dangerous to particular Arab elements seeking to topple Islamist resistance. It has already been noted that this info could be very damaging in Israeli hands, which may be why Hamas is now changing its tune.

Of course, Hamas's initial investigation also concluded one or more Arab states was to blame.

Dubai's police still claim that Israel is responsible. They now say some 27 suspects were involved, which is more people than Israel sent to the Winter Olympics.

They have also barred Israelis from traveling to Dubai whether or not they are using Israeli documents. If Israel is guilty, this is a bit like locking the barn door after the horse disguised itself as a bull and ran off with all the milk.

To make it worse, according to the Dubai police chief, Lieutenant General Dahi Khlafan Tamim, Israelis not carrying Israeli passports will be detected by "physical features and the way they speak."

Profiling? Really? How will that work? "Yes, General, we arrested every dark, bearded, hook-nosed man clad in black with a demonic appearance and laughed malevolently. We had to let one go because he had no horns or fangs, though"

Tamim has told Al Jazeera "he would ask the Dubai prosecutor to issue arrest warrants for" Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mossad chief Meir Dagan. Good luck with that. In the past, he has also sought and been denied extradition for a member of Russia's Parliament who may have been involved in another assassination.

But what if he is wrong? What if Israel did not send a crew of almost 30 people the ID's of Israeli citizens to murder a known terrorist and arms dealer in his luxury hotel in "The Middle East's Sin City"? What if it was Egypt or Jordan, who have their own reasons for wanting to see Hamas's growing alliance with Iran fail?

"The question now is," says Ottolenghi:

Will the governments of Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, and Ireland issue an apology to their Israeli ambassadors, who were summoned for some rough protest when Israel was accused? And will they now reserve the same rough treatment for the Egyptian and Jordanian ambassadors?
The answer, of course, is no.

"Sweet Is Good"

Tablet Magazine asked Lila, 7, Josie, 8, and Noemi, almost 5, a few questions: how do you picture G~d? Why does G~d allow evil in the world? Is G~d all-powerful?

You know, the little questions.

These imponderables may stump rabbis and philosophers, but children have their own ideas.

Hands of Mercy: Purim Blessings and Update

Below is the Email update from Hands of Mercy.

HANDS OF MERCY UPDATE "For Such A Time As This" 2-26-10

"Who know whether you have come into the kingdom for such a time as this!" Esther 4:14

No time in history may be more exciting to live than the present, as forces of light and darkness are being involuntarily drawn together to become participants in G-D's final redemption of Israel.

As the joyous Biblical story of Purim is celebrated this weekend in synagogues and Messianic congregations throughout the world, we see through its text G-D's almighty hand of mercy stretched out to provide a dynamic salvation to His people. Considering the many threats which now face Israel and our world today, we are challenged through its text to also stand strong and fearless to meet the many battles that may lie ahead. The paradigm of Esther's selfless courage, risking her life to expose the great deception of the newly arisen enemy, remains a powerful example of spiritual strength to us all.

Waves of political deception, economic crisis and war continue to threaten the delicate balance of our world….especially with the advanced ability of Iran to soon have nuclear weapons capable of reaching our vulnerable Israeli cities. It's obvious that the ancient 'Prince of Persia and Haman' have once again re-emerged to challenge this covenant Land and people…as well as all those aligned with her.

Also of grave concern are recent threats made by leaders of Syria, Lebanon and Hezbollah, as they improve their massive arsenal of biological and chemical missiles poised toward our vulnerable population centers.

In preparation, our Israeli government has recently ordered the reissuing of highly-improved gas masks to all its citizens. Yet within the gloom of these ominous times, "WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR" considering G-D's great promises:

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper, but shall refute every tongue that accuses you." (Isaiah 54:17)

"He who sits in heaven laughs, knowing that their days are numbered." (Psalms 2:4)

In light of the above, we are privileged to continue serving together with you as we express our L-RD's love and comfort to the many struggling families here in this war-torn area of S'derot….as we prepare for the coming of our great Messiah King!

"For who knows whether YOU have come into the kingdom for such a time as this"!

We sincerely pray G-D's abundant blessings will be poured upon you and your family/congregation during this Purim holiday!

Ye'shi Reinhardt and the 'Hands of Mercy' team

PS: The 'attached Pics' will give you a glimpse into some of the great things G -D has accomplished through your help this past year.

Over at the Commentary blog, Jenifer Rubin asks: "How's Syrian Engagement Working Out?"
Of, course, the answer is. "Not so well."

The Obama Administration recently announced it would send the US ambassador back to Syria, in an effort to engage Damascus and wean Syria away from Iran. The response has been underwhelming, as was the response to the visit to Damascus by Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns on February 17. During Burns' meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Syrian leader denied all American claims that his regime was providing military aid to terrorists in Iraq, or to Hezbollah and Palestinian terror groups.

Will anyone point out the futility of the US trying to get engaged to Iran's favorite concubine?Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also visited Damascus, arriving on Thursday for a two-day official vist, during which he met with Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah along with the Syrian President.

On the day he arrived, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton called on Syrian officials to distance themselves from Iran and decrease level of relations with Tehran. Later, the two presidents held a joint press conference at which the Iranian president said, "We can listen to the advice of this lady, but in fact there is no distance to shorten it."

He also declared the US tried to dominate the entire region but now the Americans have to leave the region empty-handed and that is why they are very angry.

"Our response to them is that you should die of this anger," he announced.

That evening, Ahmadinejad and Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday evening joined Assad for dinner. The Iranian president threatened that Arab nations would usher in a new Middle East "without Zionists and without colonialists."

Not to be outdone, Assad said of Israel that "we believe we are facing an entity that is capable of aggression at any point, and we are preparing ourselves for any Israeli aggression, be it on a small or large scale. We must be prepared for any Israeli response, under any pretext."

Ahmadinejad also met with heads of the Palestinian terror gangs in Syria, including Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashaal, Islamic Jihad Deputy Secretary-General Ziad Nahla and Ahmed Jibril, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command. Mashaal, Jibril, and Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah then left their Syrian haven to travel to a fund-raiser in Iran on Saturday to meet Iran's Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Iranian gnome-in-chief announced: "Palestine will be liberated through the Palestinian people's tough resistance and unity among jihad groups. Those who support Zionism will be shamefully ushered off the stage of history and departing with a tarnished image."

Ambassador Robert Ford has not yet been confirmed for his posting to Syria. You have to wonder if any Senator will point out the futility of the US trying to get engaged to Iran's favorite concubine

Purim, the Holiday That Includes All Others

Sure, it is a time for fun and frivolity, not to mention drinking until you can't tell the difference between "Blessed be Mordechai" and "Cursed be..." that other guy.

But Purim is also a very serious holiday. The 19th-century Hasidic Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk is quoted as having told his students that "all of the holidays are included in Purim."
